Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation

Your face is one of the most sensitive, delicate and sensual parts of your entire body, so the thought of surgery can make many patients hesitate. Fortunately, Dr. Barrett is a facial cosmetic specialist who provides non-surgical options for individuals who want to restore the shape, volume, or projection of their facial features without going under the knife. Injections are cost effective and can be done during your lunch break, which is why we recommend scheduling a consultation with Dr. Barrett as soon as possible!

Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation

People benefit most from non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatment if they want to:

  • Increase or reduce nose size or add some volume to deflated regions
  • Fill shallow areas and recover some facial contour
  • Improve skin tone and texture
  • Soften facial creases and wrinkles
  • Elevate sunken scars

Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation

The procedure can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the extent of rejuvenation that you desire. During the procedure, Dr. Barrett will use a combination of dermal fillers to treat wrinkles and depressions:

  • Radiesse, a calcium hydroxyapatite formula that can soften skin creases, revive shallow contours, and stimulate collagen growth in recessed scars to minimize their appearance. This is typically applied in the upper cheek area right underneath the eyes
  • Botox, a purified low-concentration form of the bacteria toxin that (when injected in small doses) can temporarily relax muscles by blocking the chemical signals that cause them to contract. By preventing these muscles from contracting and tightening, the skin appears flatter, smoother, and less wrinkled overall. This is typically applied on deeper wrinkles, such as those in the forehead.
  • Juvederm, an FDA-approved formula made of hyaluronic acid (a natural substance found in normal human tissues) that is widely used to treat wrinkles and augment noses. The average lip injection patient uses one syringe (1cc), but this can vary depending on the condition of your lips. This is typically applied to the lips and the nasolabial region.

Results and Recovery

Many patients will find that this procedure is not nearly as painful as expected. Dr. Barrett takes numerous precautions to make your experience as painless as possible including numbing cream, ice packs, and numbing injection medicine. Most people claim that a shot in the arm hurts worse than nose injections performed by Dr. Barrett.

Post-surgery, the nose may become swollen temporarily, sometimes up to one week, with accompanying bruising. Swelling can often be confused for a bad result, so we recommend patients wait a week to let the swelling subside. In cases of excessive swelling, Juvederm can be dissolved within minutes with a dissolving agent.
