Brow lift surgery, also known as a “forehead lift” is used to create a fresh, youthful appearance, to the forehead area above the eyes. This procedure is used to correct a drooping browline reducing the horizontal lines and furrows or “worry lines” that often can make a person appear angry, sad or tired. Brow lifts today are accomplished through a half inch scalp incision just above the hairline on each side, usually in conjunction with upper eyelid incisions used to remove excess upper eyelid skin. The forehead skin is loosened, lifted, and then fixed in place with the aid of small dissolvable anchors set into the bone underneath. It is not necessary to remove any hair to perform a brow lift. An endoscope is often used to help minimize incision.
Depending on your individual conditions, Dr. Barrett will determine which brow lift technique will provide you with the most optimal results. Typically this procedure takes about 2 hours to complete.
